Marc Aspinall, aka The Tree House Press, is a freelance illustrator creating sophisticated and charming lifestyle images for world class publications such as Monocle, New Yorker, Conde Nast Traveller USA, and Wired Magazine. Last September, Marc Aspinall reached out after hearing me interviewed on Monocle’s podcast The Entrepreneurs and asked if he could customize the design of the Cargo Duffel. When I discovered he was a super talented illustrator, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work with him, see what he had in mind, and ultimately create a version 2.0.

We agreed to add contrast stitching, asymmetrical pockets (one to fit an iPad mini with a cover and one to fit a smartphone), a shoulder strap and upgrade the interior liner to ballistic nylon for even more durability. We even added the pop of the cobalt blue nylon used as the interior liner onto the outside with a magnetic snap closure and pen pocket. Perfectly sized as a carry-on piece, as a weekend bag, or for just about any sport or workout, this truly versatile piece will be your go-to bag for every trip out the door.

The bag will retail for $129 and will be available in May 2014.
